Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Berhampore City Hospital is open 365 days a year and 24 hours a day. Our unit is staffed with allied health professionals and well-experienced medical team.

We refer such intensive care to patients, who need high dependency care for their critical & unconscious health condition, in order to give high priority treatment. Our health professionals ensure an optimum level of care by actively participating in an intensive care unit.

Patients get admitted in two either ways—

• Either, patients are admitted on emergency cases
• Or, patients need referral from physician to get ICU admission

We categorize ICU patients into 3 sections—

• Patients with serious infection
• Patients with cardiac issues (Such as cardiothoracic surgery)
• Patients require close monitoring and high intensive care

Patients require close monitoring and high intensive care in the cases of—

• Complex spinal surgery
• Organ transplants
• Respiratory failure
• Severe burns
• Major trauma
• Other accidental cases
